Moonglow: Chicago female vocal trio specializing in 30s and 40s Boswell Sister style entertainment

The female vocal trio Moonglow (Mary Launder, Julia Maish and Diane Compton) recreates the unique live sound of the innovative Boswell Sisters, a popular New Orleans-based vocal trio of the 1930’s.

These songs with their unusual crossover harmonies, filtered through Moonglow’s modern sensibility, sound both authentic and refreshingly new. The repertoire includes music by Harry Warren,
George and Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael, Johnny Mercer, Duke Ellington,
and even Morey Amsterdam.

Moonglow’s repertoire continues to expand as even more arrangements –
both vintage and contemporary – are unearthed. Accompanied by guitarist George Sawyn,
Moonglow is a singularly enjoyable musical experience; a nostalgic visit to a more lighthearted world!
